Nature’s Logic is a relatively young brand, but it offers premium, all-natural dog food.

The brand distinguishes itself by not using any synthetic ingredients.

Does the all-natural approach Nature’s Logic takes pan out? How does their food measure up?

Let’s look at the history, ingredients, and recalls in Nature’s Logic dog food review and try to answer these questions.

About Nature’s Logic Brand

Nature’s Logic brand of dog food was founded by Scott Freeman in 2005. The company produces both dog food and cat food.

The company is headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska. However, the dog food itself is produced in Texas, Kansas, and Nebraska.

In August 2021, Mid America Pet Food acquired Nature’s Logic premium pet food brand. Mid America Pet Food is well-known for their Victor dog food. The company is owned by TA Associates.

Nature’s Logic Brand Lines

Nature’s Logic is a small-to-medium range. Still, it features various dog food products.

Nature’s Logic includes dry dog food, canned foods, and frozen dog food.

The range addresses various dietary needs of dogs and provides complete and balanced nutrition.

All the Nature’s Logic formulas meet the AAFCO nutritional profiles for the relevant life stage.

Nature’s Logic Original Dry Dog Food

Nature’s Logic Original Dry Dog Food

The Original line provides complete and balanced nutrition for all life stages. There are 9 formulas in this line.

All the recipes are grain-inclusive and formulated for all breeds sizes.

Each Original formula starts with a high-protein named meat meal. This way, your dog gets enough protein for their everyday activities and muscle growth.

The complete nutrition is rounded with premium whole grain and animal fat. The recipes also offer rich digestive support – through alfalfa, chicory root, probiotics, and digestive enzymes.

This way, your dog gets balanced nutrition but can also digest the food efficiently and enjoy all the health benefits.

Since there are many flavors to choose from, these formulas are great for a rotational diet — and offer variety if your dog has meat allergies.

Nature’s Logic Original Grain-Free Dry Dog Food

Nature’s Logic Original Grain-Free Food

Like the Original line, Original Grain-Free provides complete nutrition to dogs who can’t handle wheat or gluten.

This line features 2 dry food recipes. Both are formulated for all life stages and breed sizes.

The formulas start with a high-protein named meat meal, which is an excellent source of animal protein. The meat meal is accompanied by a fish meal and organ meat for additional healthy Omega-3 fatty acids and minerals.

These recipes do not contain peas, pea derivatives, or potatoes. They are filled with dried fruits and veggies, probiotics, and digestive enzymes.

They also do not contain synthetic taurine. Instead, they use menhaden fish meal, a natural taurine source.

The Original dog food is free of common allergens but also, interestingly, contains no synthesized vitamins or minerals.

Nature’s Logic Raw Frozen Diet

Nature’s Logic Raw Frozen Diet Food

Nature’s Logic Raw Frozen Diet emulates dogs’ ancestral diet. At the same time, it provides complete and balanced nutrition.

All the products in this line start with whole meat and organ meats for high-quality animal protein sources.

Fish oil introduces healthy Omega-3 fatty acids for a healthy heart, skin nourishment, and shiny coat.

The recipes are rounded with multiple dried veggies and fruits. These bring many health benefits, thanks to rich vitamins and minerals.

Nature’s Logic Lightly Cooked Frozen Recipes

If you’re looking for a different kind of treat for your furry friends, these lightly cooked and frozen recipes might be the thing.

The dog food comes as meat rolls.

All the formulas are made with minimally processed whole foods to preserve freshness and offer a great taste to your canine.

The products in this line are free of GMOs and hormones. They also have no peas, potatoes, or legumes.

Your dog will enjoy the taste of whole meats, organ meats, fish oil, and fresh fruits and veggies. The products also contain dried chicory root for better digestion and great absorption of nutrients.

All the rolls are formulated for all life stages.

Nature’s Logic Wet Food

Nature’s Logic dog food also includes canned options.

There are 10 flavors of Nature’s Logic canned dog food.

The canned formulas start with whole meat, meat broth, and organ meats. Each flavor is a different protein source, so you can choose among chicken, beef, turkey, duck, lamb, and others.

This dog food is grain-free and filled with fresh and dried fruits and veggies.

It is also wheat-free, corn-free, and free of rice, soy, and potato.

The exciting feature of these formulas is that they have no synthesized vitamins and minerals. Instead, they contain animal plasma and montmorillonite clay, which are natural sources of vitamins, minerals, and proteins.

The recipes are formulated for all life stages and breed sizes.

Nature’s Logic Distinction Dry Dog Food

Nature’s Logic Distinction Dry Dog Food

Distinction brand line is grain-inclusive, dry dog food for canines with food allergies and sensitive stomachs

The recipes are formulated to support dogs’ immune system, nourish skin, and soothe the digestive system.

Your canine will gobble up the highly digestible whole meat, along with a proprietary blend of dried fruits and veggies.

This dog food is free of common allergens — so there is no corn, wheat, or soy. These are common culprits for dog allergies and skin sensitivity, as well as an upset stomach.

The line is also free of legumes — which means no peas or pea derivatives. Furthermore, the recipes are also free of artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives.

So, what is your dog getting then? Just a host of high-quality animal protein, premium carbs, and all-natural vitamins and minerals

The Distinction line is available only in selected pet stores.

Nature’s Logic Distinction Grain-Free Dry Dog Food

Nature’s Logic Distinction Grain-Free Food

Distinction Grain-Free line is formulated for sensitive dogs who are allergic to wheat or gluten.

All the recipes in this line are grain-free but also free of legumes. Many grain-free dog food brands use legumes and peas as grain substitutes, but Nature’s Logic has none.

Instead, this dog food includes whole meats, named meat meals, and organ meats. They are complemented with dried fruits and veggies, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and healthy Omega-3 fatty acids.

The Distinction Grain-Free line is formulated for all life stages and breed sizes. Just like its grain-inclusive counterpart, this line is available only in selected pet stores.

Ingredients Quality

Nature’s Logic dog food has some fantastic ingredients for your furry friend. In fact, a lot of thought has gone into what makes it into formulas and what needs to be excluded.

Your dog will be getting a lot of high-quality animal protein. Protein sources include whole meats, like fresh chicken or beef, complemented by named meat meals, e.g. chicken meal.

Animal sources also include novel proteins like rabbits, sardine, and venison. These sources are great for dogs who are allergic to commercial animal protein sources.

The formulas also feature a lot of organ meats, like liver, heart, and kidneys. Organ meats can be a nutritious addition to dog food because they also bring minerals and other essential nutrients.

When it comes to grains and carb sources, Nature’s Logic mainly uses one ancient grain — millet. Millet is typically a bird feed, but more dog food brands are discovering its nutritional benefits for dogs. Millet is rich in vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber and doesn’t have anti-nutrients like some other grains.

Fat sources mainly come from animal fat. The most common ones are chicken fat and pork fat, which are high-quality and energy-dense sources.

The fat profile in Nature’s Logic dog food is rounded with fish oil, like menhaden fish oil and herring oil. Fish oil doesn’t just introduce fat. It’s also a wonderful source of Omega-3 fatty acids, essential for skin health, cardiovascular system, and shiny fur.

One thing that’s particularly important and interesting about Nature’s Logic dog food is that the company insists on all-natural ingredients

You will notice that there is no added taurine, even in grain-free formulas. Most dog food companies add synthetic taurine, but Nature’s Logic uses menhaden fish oil instead. They say it’s a natural source of taurine for canines.

Speaking of synthetic additives and natural ingredients, the real surprise is that there are no chemically synthesized vitamins and minerals in this dog food either.

Dog food companies add synthetic forms of vitamins to dog food by default. However, Nature’s Logic introduces their mix of dried vegetables and fruits instead.

This mix is undoubtedly richer than in most other premium dog foods. Fruits and veggies are full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

But are these enough to cover all the dietary needs of your dog? Well, you should know that Nature’s Logic dog food is tested via feeding trials, so the answer is a tentative yes.

When it comes to preservatives, there are no artificial flavors, colors, or synthetic preservatives. The only preservative used is mixed tocopherols, a combination of various vitamin E forms.

The formulas are also rich in probiotics, prebiotics, and digestive enzymes. These introduce healthy bacteria to your dog’s gut and help with digestion.

Nature’s Logic dog food ingredients are premium and come highly recommended.

Nature’s Logic Dog Food Recalls

There have been no recalls of Nature’s Logic dog food to this date.

This is important as it speaks to the integrity of the company and the quality procedures they employ in manufacturing.

The FDA regularly updates their recall alerts database if you’d like to check the ongoing dog food recalls.

Nature’s Logic Dog Food Reviews

Pet owners are raving about Nature’s Logic dog food.

Dog owners and long-time users of this dog food mention that their furballs love the taste and thrive on the formulas. A typical review on Nature’s Logic Canine Beef Meal Feast looks something like this:

“I have been feeding Nature’s Logic dry dog food for a long time, and the dogs all do well with it. Recently changed from Duck and Salmon to Beef to use a different protein. All good”

Online dog food reviews also mention that dogs with sensitive tummies and picky eaters love the food. A review on Nature’s Logic Canine Chicken Feast Canned Dog Food illustrates this point:

“I have a doodle with a very sensitive tummy and a picky eater. I tried many premium dog food brands before I found Nature’s Logic. I have fed nothing else for three years. He loves it, so it’s worth every penny.”

However, while most parents agree that their dogs love the food, the price seems to be a common complaint. One of the reviews on Nature’s Logic Canine Duck & Salmon Meal Feast conveys this sentiment:

“Unfortunately, the price went up from $70 to $98, almost $30 since December!!! I was willing to pay more for premium food, but this is too much, and I will no longer buy it.”

While it’s clear that Nature’s Logic is great, high-quality dog food, the steep price might be an issue for many pet parents.

Our Verdict

Nature’s Logic is a premium, high-quality dog food with great ingredients and a diverse range.

It’s rare to find dog food that lives up to the “all-natural ingredients” slogan. At the very least, most dog food companies use chemically synthesized vitamins. However, Nature’s Logic found a way around that, too.

This dog food comes highly recommended, but it might not be for everyone because it isn’t exactly budget-friendly.
